About Me - WellnessByEKD

I’m Emily - A health scientist, NASM-certified personal trainer, nutrition coach, and huge wellness advocate. My passion for helping others achieve their fitness goals stems from my own health journey, which started about four years ago. While in graduate school for my Master of Public Health degree, I gained weight, struggled mentally, and was not taking care of myself, both physically and mentally. I was stuck in a cycle of unhealthy habits. Near the end of my grad program, I decided that enough was enough, and I was going to do everything to rebuild the confidence I once had. I became inspired to start bettering myself in every way possible, focused on building a solid routine, introduced strength training, and made intentional choices for my health. Over time, I discovered a sustainable lifestyle that not only worked for me, but completely transformed how I felt and looked. I lost 40 pounds, gained muscle and truly have never felt better, in every way. After graduating from my Masters program and starting my career, I saw real-life data on how lifestyle change impacts long-term health. Deciding to start my own fitness journey and seeing others affected by lifestyle change is what inspired me to start helping others.

 

What makes me different from other coaches is that through my extensive educational background and career, I have a unique perspective on all things wellness, fitness, and health. I don’t believe in restrictive diets or overtraining - My main goal for all of my clients is consistency and a sustainable lifestyle for long-term health.

 

Wellness isn’t black and white, nor is it an all-or-nothing battle. By prioritizing my health daily, I’ve seen every area of my life improve. Fitness and wellness have become integral parts of who I am, and I’m excited to share it with you.
